European Paralympic Committee (EPC)

 

The European Paralympic Committee is an international organization governed by the National Paralympic Committees, of Europe, and by the International Organisation of Sports for the Disabled.

 

Founded in November 1991 as the IPC European Committee, it adopted the current name in 1999.

 

The EPC is responsible for sanctioning, coordinate and supervise the European Championships in 11 sports: alpine skiing, archery, athletics, bowls, Powerlifting, Nordic skiing, shooting, Ice Sledge Hockey, swimming, table tennis and Wheelchair Dance Sport. It is also responsible for developing sport for disabled people in Europe.
