Deaflympics Project 2013

Unequivocally by option and governmental decision, the Deaflympics have now a legal framework without parallel in our country, having come to be formally recognized in this dimension of sport, including the context of awarding of status of practitioners of high performance.

Portuguese athletes are participating in the Deaflympic Games and there has been very honorable stakes for our country.

According to the reflection made ​​by the PPC, the country is faced with the need to ensure an equitable treatment of practitioners of excellence, in this particular case, through the establishment of a framework of support to those who are in the process of preparation for the Deaflympics 2013.

The Project main goal is the qualitative improvement of the Portuguese participation at the Deaflympic Games, supporting the sport, the athletes individual preparation and national teams which are recognized, so it is expected to obtain the benefits of success in that sport event.

The Executive Committee of the PPC, considering the objectives and principal which underlay this project, has decided to reaffirm, within the current government, the importance of the achievement of this project, at which maintains its commitment and legitimate expectation of its feasability through the government support.
